Plot:

Grey Williams just got home from school.  His eyes were slightly sunken from staying up all night trying to rethink his life. For those of you who don’t know, Grey is a pale faced 18 year old college student, with long black hair. He usually wears dark colors but his most favorite clothes are: a black tee-shirt, a grey jacket, black pants, and black boots, though the clothes he wear is far from his character. He is a kind hearted young man who cares for other people, especially the ones he loved.

Grey walked home from an exhausting day at school. The sight of home gave the young man a feeling of belongingness. A soft cool breeze began to blow over the afternoon light. The sky was dazzlingly beautiful, with orange and blue blending to create a beautiful masterpiece. The sun was just about to set. Grey began to stand over the balcony by his house. He sighed a deep breath of relief saying to himself under his breath: “I’m home.”

As the sun began to set, he walked back in his house straight to his room. And there he began again to think about his life, like most times in his life. And again like before he began to be depressed.

No one ever knew he was depressed. People know him as a very jolly and happy person. He loved to make jokes and make other people laugh. He sometimes shouldered other people’s pain and even sometimes help them with it, but he never asked others for his own problems. Music was his only salvation and in time God began to play an important role in his life. But like most people, there are dark times.

He began to frantically look for his bass guitar, a bass he had since he was 13 given to him by his father before he separated with her mother. It left young little Grey devastated and lost. After they separated his mother left them and his father was left to care for little Grey all by himself. Since then, he took care of the bass his father gave him.

He found his bass guitar and a tear began to roll in his eye.  He remembered his father. He began to play Christian songs, something that he found could calm down his confused thoughts. As he was playing he felt a feeling of calmness, and as if someone was beside him, he heard a voice in his heart, saying: “My son, don’t be afraid. Just trust me.” The overwhelming emotion made Grey stop playing. He really missed his father in Earth and in Heaven. His father died of cancer when he was 16, which left Grey in pain. Depression started kicking in. Even with the love of his aunts and uncles, he felt emptiness inside him. That’s when he felt God. He began attending a church. He finally found people with the same situation as him. And he said that if they survived pains, he can do so too.

After all the emotion, he had enough composure to play again, this time happy songs and songs that made him want to dance.

All the crying and emotion made him emotionally exhausted. While he was playing he suddenly fell asleep, holding his own guitar. He slept. Unlike most nights he slept early and soundly, without any pains in his mind. Before he completely fell asleep, he whispered beneath his breath: “I’m happy.”
